Living at WAL
Warehouse Artist Lofts (WAL) is a mixed use, transit-oriented community for accomplished and emerging artists engaged in visual, literary, media, design, and performing arts.
WAL features 116 stunning apartment homes, designed with artists in mind. Floor plans include single-story studios, studios with lofts, as well as one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans. All apartment-homes feature state-of-the-art, energy-saving, stainless-steel appliances, including dishwashers, kitchen disposals, and built-in microwaves (ADA compliant units feature countertop microwaves). The units also feature spacious rooms, high ceilings, hard-surface floors, and generous closet space.
WAL offers both affordable units (subject to income minimums and maximums) and market rate units (subject to income minimums, but not maximums). All apartments are leased on a first-come, first-served basis and in full compliance with all Fair Housing laws.
2020 income and rent limit guidelines can be viewed here.

Please note that all one-, two-, and three-bedroom units in the community are affordable and require artists to meet income qualifications. If you're interested in applying for a one-, two-, or three-bedroom apartment, please review the income guidelines carefully, and verify that your household will qualify for one of these units.
Market rate apartments include studios and studio with lofts only. (WAL does not offer one, two, or three bedroom apartments at market rate.)
WAL’s common areas include a Performance Hall/Community Room, Dance Studio, and Roof Top Facility/BBQ picnic area with panoramic views of downtown Sacramento, and a community garden. Throughout WAL, original works of art are on display by local artists, and our community is here to inspire, educate, and support each other in a safe, open, and creative environment.
WAL is a community led by artists and home to many of Sacramento's most creative families and individuals. Our residents comprise the teams that create the artistic vision and direction for WAL, and they use facilities throughout WAL and the Sacramento community for training, mentoring, and performances. WAL itself is a work of art in motion -- a place for creative minds to write the evolving story of a growing artistic community.
